The 4th Annual FABLS Workshop 2008

21 - 22 February 2008

St Lucia Campus, Brisbane

You are invited to participate in the "4th Annual FABLS Workshop 2008" which is being hosted by the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) at the University of Queensland, to be held in Brisbane, on the St Lucia Campus over February 21 - 22, 2007.

The workshop will run over 1 and a half days and will comprise 2-3 international speakers, as well as 6-7 presenters selected from the Australian FABLS community, both Academic and Corporate. There will also be a poster session, to which all members, especially PhD students and Corporate members, are encouraged to submit.

As an adjunct to the 4th FABLS Annual Workshop 2008, we are pleased to announce presentations by two of our international speakers (Dr. Volker Buschmann and Dr. Peter Banks) prior to the Workshop on the 19 February, in Melbourne and Sydney respectively. Please see here for more information.

The 3rd Asian and Pacific Rim Symposium on Biophotonics
APBP 2007 & Biophotonics Down Under II

You are invited to participate in the "3rd Asian and Pacific Rim Symposium on Biophotonics" in conjunction with Biophotonics Down Under II, to be held in Cairns, Australia during July 9 - 11, 2007.
The conference will run over 4 days starting with a welcome reception at the Shangri-la Hotel, Cairns on Sunday, July 8, 2007. The technical program will commence on Monday with the opening ceremony followed by 2 plenary talks.

ComBio 2007 Conference
Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

You are invited to participate in ComBio 2007, the major ASBMB conference held each year, in association with the Australian Society of Plant Scientists and the Australia and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology, and is the premier biological sciences meeting in Australia.

The conference will run over 4 days and organisers are determined that this conference will be both scientifically rewarding and socially enjoyable. In addition to the popular ‘mixer’ on the Sunday evening, registrants are also invited to a ‘cocktail reception’ to be held on the Monday evening in the Exhibition area. The conference dinner will be held on the Tuesday night at the Grand Harbour Ballroom at Star City and the meeting will conclude with Farewell Drinks on the Wednesday afternoon, immediately following the last session.

It promises to be one of the most comprehensive and broad ranging scientific events of its kind ever held and will incorporate the annual conferences of all three organisations involved.

4th Garvan Signalling Symposium

You are invited to the 4th Garvan Signalling Symposium to be held in Sydney, Australia.

Of particular interest to FABLS Members would be the continued drive of this meeting to discuss where and when signalling events occur in cells through cell biological approaches using fluorescent molecules. There will be a number of presentations using fluorescent molecules in live and fixed cells, imaging using laser scanning confocal and TIRF microscopy and also lifetime imaging to measure intermolecular interactions via FRET.

The 4th International Peptide Symposium / 7th Australian Peptide Conference
21-25 October 2007 Cairns Convention Centre, Cairns, Australia

You are invited to participate in the "4th International Peptide Symposium " in conjunction with the 7th Australian Peptide Conference, to be held in Cairns, Australia during October 21 - 25, 2007. The conference will run over 4 days with over 20 confirmed Australian and International speakers, forming a core program that promises excellent and exciting science.

The conference will cover not only peptide chemistry and biology, but will also have a particular emphasis on emerging technologies, such as proteomics, biosensors, bioinformatics, fluorescent technologies, identification of new biomarkers as well as novel applications of the more established techniques with a major theme Discovery to Drugs: The Peptide Pipeline.
