More Archive Images

If you wish to access more FITS files containing images of galaxies, nebulae and clusters, they may be downloaded from sub-directories in:

http://www.astronomy.mq.edu.au/asistm/observations/2007a/
and
http://www.astronomy.mq.edu.au/asistm/observations/2007b/

Note that the filenames are coded NNN-I-L.fits where:

NNN is the name of the object.
I is an integer indicating the image number in a mosaic sequence, where applicable.
L is a letter indicating the filter used for the observation.
.fits is the standard extension for FITS files.

Right-click each link and select Save Target As... to save files to your hard drive.

If you wish to work with these files in IRIS, they should be renamed with all lower-case letters and the extension should be shortened from .fits to .fit.
